Apps Developed To Safeguard Children

Now the soft tech sector is ready to enable its services to parent users with smart phone apps designed to provide a secure and protective environment for children.

As smart phone app mania becomes predominant, the younger generation belonging to this era has not been forgotten by app developers. Now software technology can be utilized for child protection as well. MSNBC report states that software developing companies have created apps that provide security for children. App developers have designed and launched apps on Apple iOS and Android platforms that allow parents to provide a protective environment for their children when giving them more freedom.

If the parents wish to endow children with a safe virtual neighborhood then there wish has been granted by the NearParent app. This app has been created to offer parents with the feature of choosing reliable individuals or neighbors who will be there to safeguard their children in case of emergency. This app is available on Android and iOS based smart phones, as reported by MSNBC. The app developers described NearParent as ‘the modern-day equivalent of the trusted neighborhood’.

Another very innovative app designed for the purpose of child safety is the SecuraTrac. MSNBC stated that the app allows parents to keep a track of children, monitoring them through GPS and even secures them against fast driving and text messaging during it. The news organization also reported the launch date of SecuraTrac to be in August on Android based devices and September for iOS devices.

An internet safety consultant for Covenant Eyes said to MSNBC that “Technology doesn’t replace good parenting. But technology, like Internet filtering and monitoring, is a necessity to parent the Internet generation.” Such apps as NearParent and SecuraTrac can especially prove to be useful for those working parents who cannot personally keep a check on their children 24/7. Now they can at least lessen their worries and trust their children to be safe with the help of child protection apps.
